COMMENTS FROM DOULAS WHO HAVE ATTENDED THERE- "Of the two hospitals in Topeka, this is the one that is "less" medical and more willing to "try" natural ways. When I arrived with a mother who was in active labor, the nurses were quite upset. Despite the mother's situation, the insisted on all of the routine "preps" (IV, urine sample, blood sample, pelvic exam, EFM, and putting on the hospital gown.) Usually, one nurse is assigned to each patient and she will stay in the room with most of the time. "
